Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot Is Done Filming (Repost Artikel)

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice proved to be a polarizing start to the DC Extended Universe, but there are a few aspects that got fans excited for future installments. Without question, one of them was Gal Gadot’s performance as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Making the most of her limited screen time, Gadot stole just about every scene she was in, delivering a crowd-pleasing moment in the Doomsday showdown and introducing the masses to a great new action heroine viewers can’t wait to see more of.

Fortunately, there will be plenty of Wonder Woman in the near future. Not only is Gadot coming back for the first Justice League film next year, she will also headline her own solo vehicle in summer 2017. The Wonder Woman standalone has been in production since last fall, months before Dawn of Justice hit theaters. Now it seems like director Patty Jenkins is close to wrapping principal photography, seeing that her star is finished with the product.

Gadot took to her Facebook page to announce that she just completed her final day on Wonder Woman, expressing gratitude for everyone who contributed to making the movie a reality and all the great times they had:

It makes sense for Wonder Woman to be winding down now, especially since Gadot needs to shift gears to Justice League soon. Snyder has been rolling the cameras on his team-up film since last month, conceivably working around Gadot’s busy schedule and shooting scenes with the other heroes. This development also gives Jenkins a little over a year to handle post-production work, which should be adequate time to finalize the visual effects and CGI shots that will no doubt be part of her Amazonian warrior tale. Things seem to be moving along smoothly, as far as this area of the DCEU is concerned.

After Gadot proved the naysayers wrong and turned into one of the best parts of Batman V Superman, the demand for Wonder Woman went up exponentially. Plot details are currently hard to come by, but the information available paints an intriguing picture. Set primarily in World War I, the Wonder Woman solo film will show Diana as a “naive and pure” individual – a stark contrast from the jaded ex-warrior seen in Dawn of Justice. It’s also been revealed that the full extent of Wonder Woman’s powers has intentionally been held back for the standalone, teasing the possibility of jaw-dropping set pieces. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a fascinating character exploration and an important entry in the comic book movie genre.

Warner Bros. already provided a brief look at Wonder Woman last December during a television special, calling her the best fighter in the DCEU. However, it’ll be a while before the marketing campaign goes into a full swing. The studio’s main concern now is promoting the one-two punch of Batman V Superman‘s home media release and the theatrical premiere of Suicide Squad. A trailer of any kind probably won’t be ready until the holidays at the very least so it can play in front of the big tentpoles this fall/winter. Until then, viewers will have to rely on good old theorizing to figure out how all the pieces come together, and if the past connects to the present in anyway.
